Outreach Programs

Mission Council: Guatemala Project Learn more about our Twin Parish in Patzun, Guatemala. See how can you help our mission project in the Mayan Indian village of Mocolicxot Bajo and other villages located just outside of Patzún.
Friends of the Bereaved A ministry to those who are grieving the loss of a loved one through death. Its purpose is to carry on Christ's mission to comfort the sorrowful through compassionate listening and presence. They contact family members by phone shortly after the church has been notified of the death of a parishioner or of a family member of a parishioner. Training is offered for this ministry.
Visiting the sick and homebound Visiting briefly and offering encouragement and prayer. Volunteers bring the Eucharist to Catholic patients in the hospitals, nursing homes, retirement centers, and the homebound. Volunteer training is provided. Contact the Parish office.
Rides to Church If you have no way to get to mass, contact Anita Benavidez at 940-648-2232 for details.
Jail Ministry A ministry to provide spiritual support to men and women who are in the local jail. Training is required. Contact Deacon Popo Gonzalez or the Parish office.
Respect for Life Persons who are concerned with respect for all life. Willing to raise awareness of life issues, remind the parish of Respect of Life Programs, encourage support of respect of life activities and help educate the parish. Programs planned through the Religious Formation Committee.
Angel Tree Program A ministry during Advent to provide Christmas gifts for children referred from the school social workers, mainly new clothing for school.
Habitat for Humanity Our parish is in the process of working with Habitat and other area local churches to foster better living conditions in our society.
Literacy This program teaches adults to read, write, and speak English. This endeavor provides a much needed service of improving communication skills that lead to better employment, development of citizenship, and cultural understanding.
